The signing ceremony of PetroChina Scholarship (the fifth one) was held at Beijing Institute of Petroleum Management Cadres. The Group signed PetroChina scholarship agreements with 17 well-known domestic universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China and China University of Petroleum (Beijing), to jointly promote the cultivation of high-quality talents. Duan Liangwei, Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the Group, attended the signing ceremony.
The contracted cooperation is an important part of the Group’s vigorous implementation of the “Talent Strengthening Project”, and an important step to implement the Science and Information Technology Innovation Conference on “accelerating the creation of a first-class innovative talent team, focusing on high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement, and building a national strategic scientific and technological force and a highland of energy and chemical innovation”.
At the signing ceremony, Duan Liangwei expressed his sincere hope that the universities would continue to support PetroChina’s reform and development, and give more cooperation and assistance in talent training and scientific and technological exchanges, etc. He believed that we would be able to give full play to our respective advantages, achieve resource integration and complement each other’s strengths, and make greater contributions to promoting high-quality talent training and the development and prosperity of China’s education. He put forward an initiative on the next step of the “PetroChina Scholarship” program, saying that PetroChina will further strengthen communication with universities, innovate cooperation methods, expand cooperation fields, establish a mechanism for tracking and training students, keep abreast of the growth of talents, and form a special training model of “award, career choice and success”. The special training mode of “award, career choice and success” will be formed.
“In the past 20 years, PetroChina has always adhered to the original intention of “rewarding the best and helping the needy, sending charcoal in the snow, shaping the image and gathering talents”. It has played an important role in supporting the development of education, training outstanding talents, promoting social employment and promoting harmony and stability.
The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Scholarship is awarded every five years, and the scope of this scholarship has been expanded from 13 to 17 universities. Up to now, PetroChina Scholarship has helped more than 14,000 students. At the same time, the Group has continued to optimize the structure of the scholarship, and has negotiated with universities to determine the number and percentage of students to benefit from the scholarship agreement in terms of the groups to be helped and the disciplines of each major.
